Read and respond in the Inbox

Read customer conversations in Canvass, prepare reply drafts for review, and inspect delivery and meeting records.

Open Inbox to read customer conversations. Search by account, contact or subject, then choose a thread. The list keeps active conversations separate from archived ones. On a phone, use Back to conversations to return to the list. Long messages expand down the page, so you can read the thread with the normal page scroll. On a desktop, the conversation list stays beside it.

Prepare a response

Choose Write reply to compose a draft or Draft with AI to request one. Reply drafting becomes available when Canvass has an incoming message it can use as the reply source. Saving a manual reply creates a draft for review; it doesn't send the email.

Choose the Draft review tab to review saved replies. Sending remains subject to the workspace's delivery configuration and approval policy. Inspect Delivery details in a message for its recorded sender, recipient, provider and available approval references. A provider handoff alone doesn't establish that an email reached the recipient.

Keep the inbox organized

Customer context opens the account information beside the thread. Use More conversation actions to archive a conversation or mark a lead as dead. Both actions ask for confirmation and retain the thread's history. Marking a lead as dead archives the conversation; it doesn't add the person or company to suppression. Choose the Archived filter and use Restore to return a conversation.

Meetings and scheduling

Scheduling holds the profile used to prepare scheduling replies. Calendar shows recorded meeting events. Mark meeting booked records an already confirmed booking with its exact time and evidence; it doesn't schedule a new meeting or send an invitation.

If a view can't load, use Try again. An unavailable read is shown separately from an empty list. For campaign preparation and delivery requirements, see the campaign workflow.

Import existing Instantly conversations

An organization admin can choose Sync Instantly inbox to import email history from the connected Instantly workspace. Canvass reads received messages, campaign sends and manual replies in pages. The status shows progress and failures. You can pause between pages and continue later; retrying an interrupted request keeps its original identity, so it does not create duplicate messages. Messages with unsupported fields or unclear participants are skipped and counted for review in Instantly; valid messages on the page still import. A different provider workspace stops the import.

Imported messages keep their provider previews and original senders. They do not count as Canvass campaign approvals or enable automatic replies. Open Instantly to read content that is absent from a provider preview. Automatic replies appear with their own label.

For new activity, configure Instantly webhooks for the campaigns you want to follow. A webhook limited to one campaign will not report replies from other campaigns. The API connection and webhook delivery are separate; importing history does not activate a campaign or send an email.
